How do I schedule a picnic?             

Go to the “Book Now” tab located at the top of the page and select a picnic package that meets your needs. Include your number of guests. If you would like to add on specialty items, click the Add On’s button and select the items you would like to go with your package. At the time of booking, please select your date, location, and time. Enter your payment details and complete your booking. You will receive a confirmation of your booking within 24 hours. Show up for your picnic at your scheduled time. Additional time will not be given for late arrivals.

How far in advance should I book my picnic?

The earlier, the better! We are booking quickly and want everyone to receive their requested date. We recommend booking at least two weeks before your desired picnic. We do not take bookings three days before a requested picnic date.

When do I pay and how?

After selecting your desired package, add on’s, proposed date, time, and location, you will be directed to the Pay Now button. A deposit of 50% is required at the time of your reservation. You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours with a link to pay your balance within 72 hours. All clients will receive an itemized receipt which will confirm your picnic's date, time, and location. It will also include the balance of your picnic if you have requested additional items or people after your initial order. All clients are required to submit an indoor option at the time of booking in case of bad weather.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, Picnics Unmuted requires notification 72-hours before your scheduled picnic time. Picnics canceled within 72 hours of an event will be charged a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations that do not provide a 72-hour cancellation notification will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. To cancel a picnic, clients are required to send an email within the appropriate timeframe. All monies paid minus the cancellation fee will be returned within 72 hours to the payment method used. To reschedule a picnic, Picnics Unmuted requires a 72-hour notice prior to your event. Picnics can be rescheduled by sending an email with three new proposed dates and times. Picnics Unmuted will respond to your request within 48-hours to confirm your new date and time. There is no fee for rescheduling…life happens!  

Do you travel anywhere in the DMV?

Yes! We will set up in most parks, businesses, or your home in the greater Washington, D.C area. We charge a small travel fee if you live more than 20 miles outside the zip code 20747. Please send an email to inquire for more info.

Are there specific locations for your picnic setups? 

Our picnics can be set up anywhere around Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We can set up at your home, park, or business. For a list of city parks and gardens, feel free to visit the city parks website.

Can I have a picnic set up in my backyard or inside of my home?     

Yes, and yes! Picnics Unmuted can be set up in your backyard, home, or place of business!

What do I do if the weather is bad on my booked picnic date?

Forty-eight hours prior to your event, Picnics Unmuted will check the weather to ensure your picnic is perfect. If the forecast predicts a 30% chance of rain or more on the day of your picnic, we will reach out to you to discuss indoor or rescheduling options. When booking, we require all clients to have an indoor option in the event of bad weather. We want to make sure that your picnic happens no matter what the weather.  In case you prefer to take the risk to proceed with your scheduled picnic on a date that has a 30% or greater chance of rain, we ask that you sign a waiver stating that you acknowledge the possibility of rain and accept that the picnic will be cancelled in case of rain. We will not shift to an indoor picnic option, and NO REFUNDS will be provided.

Are food and alcohol included in my picnic?

No, but you are more than welcome to bring your own or purchase it as an “Add-On.” Picnics Unmuted does provide distilled or sparkling water.

Is my pet allowed at my picnic?

We are sorry but no. We do love furry friends, but for the time being, we are not allowing them.

Can we leave the picnic whenever we’re done?

No. All picnics have a 2.5-hour event time-space. If you would like to leave earlier, please provide us with a 30-minute heads up via call or text at (301) 824-9844 so that we can return to the picnic prior to your exit. 15-minutes prior to the end of your scheduled event, a representative from Picnics Unmuted will send you a text message to inform you of their arrival. The representative will only approach your picnic at the end of your scheduled time slot. Clients are responsible for all picnic items until we arrive. Picnics that are left unattended will incur a $100.00 charge.

Can we extend our time?

Yes, all picnics can be extended by 1 hour for a fee of $50.00 per hour. There is a maximum of 3 hours of extension.

Will the Picnic Specialist contact me before arriving at my In-Home setup? 

After you’ve received your booking confirmation, a Picnic Specialist will contact you 48-hours prior to your event and arrive 2 hours before your picnic start time to set up your picnic experience. We request that all pets be put away during our time in your personal space.

What happens if I show up late?

Your picnic starts at the scheduled time you selected during your booking. We understand life isn’t perfect, so we give a 10 min grace period. After your grace period, we will notify you that your event has been canceled. NO REFUNDS will be issued. Picnics Unmuted is dedicated to providing excellent service to all of our clients and cannot allow one group's tardiness to impact the outcome of another group. Late arrivals do not change the end time.

Do we have to clean up when we are done?

No. Our team will set up your picnic and clean up.

Can I choose the style of the picnic I desire?

Unfortunately, no. Our team has an eye for detail and an appreciation for styling. We strive to make every picnic picture perfect. You can select your color scheme option. If it is unavailable, a representative from Picnics Unmuted will reach out to you. All flowers are silk.
